Westfarmers
Dalgety is a wholesale rural merchandise operation.
Larissa is involved in invoicing orders, chasing
up any problems which may arise, managing consignment
stock and paying rebates to customers.

and / or individual role / responsibilities:
Larissa
works in a team-oriented environment, with staff
at all levels working the same hours to achieve
ultimate customer service and efficiency.

the future Larissa will assume more
responsibility with debtors, business
budgeting and ordering of stock

As
Larissa learns more about the basics of the business,
she will assume more responsibility with debtors, business
budgeting and ordering of stock.
BACKGROUND:
Grew
up where?
Larissa
grew up on a cropping enterprise near Wycheproof, Victoria.
Larissa has always been involved in the operation and
this has influenced her decision to further her education
in agriculture.

Bachelor
of Applied Science (Agriculture).
Secondary:
Larissa
completed Basic Maths, Science and Accounting at secondary
school with the knowledge that these subjects would
possibly be prerequisites in an Agricultural degree.
Work
experience:
Larissa
spent three years overseas (UK & USA) on sheep enterprises.
Larissa also gained experience on her parents farm where
she worked during holidays and after school.
OPPORTUNITIES:
Learning
on job, new skills, etc.
There
are extensive opportunities to further her business/
accounting skills with her new job.
Travel,
etc.
As
Larissa works her way up in the business she believes
there are opportunities to travel to other Westfarmers
Dalgety branches visiting company representatives.
ADVICE
TO STUDENTS NOW:
students
up to Year 10
Larissa
suggests that students should not limit their tertiary
choices, therefore choose maths/ science subjects now
for preparation of tertiary studies.
VCE
students
Larissa
believes students should begin at looking at career
options and find out what education you are required
to achieve these positions. Larissa also suggests that
students should choose subjects that will keep their
options open. Students should look into their selected
university course very carefully and find out what the
qualification will give them at the end of it.
