Students, Salinity and LandLearn

In 2007, a group of Year 9/10 students from St Augustine's P-10 School in Kyabram took part in a fieldtrip in the Tatura area to study the impact of salinity on natural and human environments.

Students developed a number of skills as a result of the fieldtrip, including field sketching, watertable monitoring and soil salinity tests. Back at school, as part of their assessment in their Environmental Studies class, students were required to complete an assignment on Salinity. This assignment could be presented in various ways. Dru Shaw chose a comic strip format to communicate his learning’s on the issue of salinity.
