In 2007, consider attending one of LandLearn’s professional development sessions.
Another Learning in the Garden PD aimed at bringing edible gardens into classrooms through the use of VELS linked hands-on activities is being offered at St John’s Lutheran Primary School in Portland on October 30th.
Water use & management in the Murray Darling Basin, a two day fieldtrip focusing on fieldwork and case studies of water use in the Lower Goulburn Broken Catchment. Developed for teachers of VCE Geography Unit 3, this two day PD opportunity will be held on December 6th and 7th. A highlight of the two day fieldtrip will be the "discussion over dinner". A panel of speakers will address the initiative of Shepparton Region's Food Bowl Group which resulted in the plan to modernise irrigation infrastructure to generate water savings. One third (75 billion litres) of those savings will be piped to Melbourne by 2010, one third will go to irrigators and one third to the environment. Speakers representing key organisations will discuss the evolution of the plan, the implications for water managers and users and for the future of the region. Dinner will be at 'teller' restaurant in Mooroopna.

Feedback from LandLearn professional development workshops:
- The LandLearn PD sessions I have attended are terrific. There are always great hands on activities and even if I have seen them at other PD sessions, it is still great to refresh my thoughts on the activity, or to remind me of it. It is good to be with other 'like minded' people who are willing to share and discuss their progress and ideas.
- Enthusiastic presenters, interesting and relevant. Greatly enjoyed it. Activities were well structured, relevant and extremely interesting. Thanks heaps!!
